Simon from HandCircus here - realise it has been a while since we last posted anything here so just wanted to give everyone an update on the latest from Seabeard HQ.
First of all, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has being so keenly supporting the game since launch. We've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for Seabeard and his crew, and it has meant so much to myself and the whole team to know that you have fallen in love with this world and much as we have.
While we are super-proud of what we created and that Seabeard was so warmly received, sadly the game's launch wasn't as financially successful as we'd all hoped and planned for. This has meant that we've not been able to sustain development at the same rate as we had been working at previously (which has obviously been pretty heart-breaking for us).
To reassure all those who love the game and want to keep playing - Seabeard is very much an active project for us, however we do need to adapt our plan to work within the reduced resources that we now have.
Our top priority is keeping the game running as great as possible so that everyone can continue to play - whether adventuring, hat collecting or building out your island. We'll continue to provide support to players and servers will remain up and running as long as people still want to play. In addition, we are exploring what we can do with the fewer resources we have available: some work has been done on the next chapter (the Factory Complex) as well as exploration of other new concepts and features. I must however manage expectations to avoid disappointing our loyal fans - future updates sadly can’t be as frequent and we will only be able to announce any new update once it is close to release.
We share your disappointment that we've been forced to reduce the frequency of updates but hope in the meantime you continue to enjoy Seabeard and thank you all of your support and feedback since we released last year.
Thank you personally for your patience and understanding - I look forward to sharing more news in the New Year.
